The main reason I've missed this forum is to pass the info in this thread on to people! Its great to be back.

I really want to get the car up to FCS in June.. Lets see how it goes. Nice to get her around the track even in her slowest state ...
#26: Re: MEGAginge's Epic 1.1 beast topic Author: Mattie-RS, Location: A Track near you ;)Posted: Fri Feb 12, 2010 8:07 am ---- Very good read mate!!
But i see you keep comparing weight to power ratio with the likes of the 1.6 and the GTi and say it will be more than them so will be say a GTi beater, But wont it need more torque to drive that bigger power to weight ratio, so in turn wont be a GTi beater :S
#27: Re: MEGAginge's Epic 1.1 beast topic Author: MEGA, Location: Harrow, LondonPosted: Fri Feb 12, 2010 10:19 am ---- As a single word response: No.
80 Torques will move a 800kilo car further than it would a 1000 kilo car. Hence why a truck is slower than an SL 55 AMG. Lol. The Torque value is not affected by the Object's weight, but the acceleration, which takes into account weight - torque; wind resistance and many other factors; certainly is.
Think about it...
However I don't think that a 1.1 will ever realistically be a GTi beater without just completely unjustifiable costs. Its still a nice project, but long term; The engine will have to change.
