#1: Tomd0801754's WIP - Poppy 2.0HDi. Update on Page 8! Author: tomd0801754, Location: MoscowPosted: Wed Feb 10, 2010 2:38 pm ---- Ok. Decided that I shall redo this. 'because I am so cool!
Ok so I bought my baby - 2.0hdi - for £2200 in May '08 after deciding to go headbutting a '55 plate focus with a rover 214si... (Police verdict - 50/50)
She was bought standard and remained that way untill August 2009. Then I joined here.. Here is my first and last photo's of her like this..
First + second mod..
these stayed on for... not long.. They just didn't suit to be honest. Also side bump stips were done!
Front bump strip (and rear) done.. This photo is just back from the body shop after the front was covered hugely in stonechips!
Decided something was missing:
Oh, it's back again
with some:
Needed these I felt.. Black Zunsport grills all around!
Boredum called:
followed by some sexy looking things:
(well not right then)
(or then)
(or when I was trying to get the f***ers to work!)
This made up for it though!
Something was still missing though (apart from alloys)..
Then this arrived!
obv a short spray later:
andddddd........
voila!
Unfortuntely she failed her MOT.. due to a 2 and 1/2 inch hole halway down the center pipe.. so bye bye..
Once again, my knowledge of rear lights failed me..
*I think I have just sicked a little!*
So back off and back to the ole' phase 1's
Next I *cleverly* decided to drive Carlisle - Essex - Carlisle in a day.. was worth it though.. I picked up these bad boys..
Then came the decent rear lights!
And there she currently sat.. Untill January.
Hub caps go from:
to:
along with:
So from this:
to this:
in 6months
And I now also have some:
Colour coded handles
Gloss black Gti mirrors
and Red Calipers and Drums
I also currently have some newer photo's with alloys and other bits on just waiting for certain people to upload them! *Wagsy*
Much love! Last edited by tomd0801754 on Thu May 10, 2012 2:58 pm; edited 7 times in total

Yeah mate, I have. Simple to do.
Just sand the old one down with some 400 grit sand paper, smooth it with some 800/1200, then Primer, sand with 1200 grit sandpaper again, lightly! Then spray paint again, sanding each coat with 1200 grit sandpaper! then Laquer!

#28: Re: Tomd0801754's WIP Author: pioneerSrt, Location: Poland / WalbrzychPosted: Fri Apr 02, 2010 10:12 am ---- Seriously because I like it but spray or brush done.
And I request you describe how is it done?
#29: Re: Tomd0801754's WIP Author: tomd0801754, Location: MoscowPosted: Fri Apr 02, 2010 10:18 am ---- SPRAY! Using rattle cans, not proffesionally. But DO NOT brush anything on your car! Lol, it won't look nice!
Remove the badge from the car.
Just sand it down with some 400 grit sand paper (to remove the chrome finish), smooth it with some 800/1200. Then the finish will be beautiful.
Primer it and Lightly sand it with some 1200 grit sandpaper
The choose your colour and spray it. Sanding each coat with 1200 grit sandpaper!
Then laquer it to stop it from peeling.

Hehe, btw the Ph2 washer jets where a steal from the Scrappies in Newton, up near Haydock.
Yeah, I think it breaks up the red tone from the back.. However, I might swap them over and have a look when I can next be bothered!

The Paint was starting to fade when I first got it.. Esp the roof and tailgate. Much love has gone into it (and cleaning sessions! ) I gotta admit, I am also very impressed with the cond. of the paint. If it didn't have the plates on, I think many people would guess that it was newer than it is!

#101: Re: Tomd0801754's WIP. Special Update Page 6! :) Author: tomd0801754, Location: MoscowPosted: Sun Feb 27, 2011 9:02 am ---- Well, I haven't updated this for a while, however...there shall be some new photo's coming this week at somepoint.. To give you a taster, this is part of a clay bar from cleaning JUST the drivers side door, UNDER the bumpstrip, so not even the whole door....
However, since last updated the FMIC is fully plumbed in and a brand new turbo has been fitted.. Due to a bit of a mishap with the last one.
She needs a fair wack of TLC atm as a bad few months has meant her getting neglected. She needs:
A new front badge spraying
New spoiler,
Respray on the front bumper (poss)
Fan wiring up
Respray of the morettes
HIDS and rewiring of the morettes as having an issue with the drivers side full beam
Re-map to get the full power potential out of her.
However.. Watch this space for new photo's later this week.

Special Update Page 6! :) Author: tomd0801754, Location: MoscowPosted: Fri Mar 18, 2011 12:42 pm ---- Unfortunately Sam (and Dillion) personal issues, University work and a lack of money has held it up. I was £50 away from having the money for a re-map and my laptop decided it wanted to try some Rosé wine, setting me back another £200.
I am hoping to be able to take her for a quick photoshoot either tomorrow or Sunday.. however just waiting for a few weeks before anything is sorted or new things bought.
