Hi, had a little trip home yesterday, so fitted a little something to the car and thought i would take a few snaps while i was at it. Pictures arent great quality unfortunately - couldnt find the charger for the good camera!

Before:

After:

A snap of my pews Razz

My lovely clean plasticy engine bay Very Happy 1.6 16v's of French Fury! ....errr yea.

An attempted mean face pic Twisted Evil

A nother one for poops and giggles!

and A badly MP'd debadged boot - havent done this yet, but its on the summer to do list!

First week back at home ill be doing:
Black 16 nims Smile thanks to Connet for those!
GTI Spoiler - thanks to hamspeed for hooking me up.
picked up my LCR splitter today so that will go on.
and going to try my hand at colour coding center console that i got from MisterB.

lowering will follow pretty sharpish.

Enjoy Smile

yea iron grey ftw Very Happy Razz

cant wait to get the spoiler and black nims on though, its crying out to me!

though they will be getting a refurb once they are tatty enough to justify it.

thinking either , bright silver, white or something unusual like takata green or orange or maybe dark matt/satin goldy bronze - its a bit jap but im into that kinda thing, not sure how it will look on a frenchy though so ill see.

What are people using to attatch their LCR splitters?

im guessing i need to remove the little plasticy thing in the middle of the bumper, then offer up the splitter and shorten the ends to match the bumper.

then? drill some holes and use self tapping screws?

help please Smile

- Reniewed my insurance today so the mods are now free to go on as soon as i get back, and beieve me the rims should be on in the first 2 hours of being home Very Happy £1161 fully comp from Adrian Flux so i can do anything i want to its looks etc and it wont go up, only power mods will push it up even more Smile and i havent got any of them in the plans yet.

A little update to the car today.

Spot the Difference!

I love that shot!
just a mini update as i say.

I have some pics of part 1 of fitting the LCR splitter, which ill finish on thursday when my bro comes over.

and...finally, my replacement nimrod should be back tomorow from South Coast Customs and refurbished in a smart gloss black.

so if all goes to plan (unlikely with the week im having - need to get my locking wheel nutts broken off first so i can replace them with a set of McGards) they should be on the car tomorow afternoon! Very Happy they will set the badge off nicely.

Upcoming: Car has been booked into a place in Brighton for the 28th to have the top of the tailgate resprayed, and my GTI roof spoiler sprayed up and fitted.

and ill be debading the boot and doors before it goes into the shop.

Lastly, a few shots after a clean, and my little back seat mascot! Simples Wink *squeak!*

I love this next shot too ! looks really purposeful Twisted Evil

i had to do my lion twice, as something blew in through the tiny window in my 'well ventilated spay booth' and landed in the laquer.

what colour you doing it? i was torn between black and colour coding.

I dunno... I was going to do the surround in black with a red lion and then get my calipers CC'd to match.

Bought a spare lion of ebay with a grille for a tenner so i'm gonna have a play about Very Happy

Well, i had a bit of a busy few days.

First of all, i finished fitting my LC splitter the other night, looks great, finishes the front end off well Very Happy

My brother 'The Human clamp!' and my wallet on the bonnet... if you ever see it laying on a pub table, please send it to....

And... finally..finally got my replacement nimrod back from the refurbishers! isnt as good as the other three as its been sprayed not powdercoated. but it will do untill i refurbish the whole set when they get tatty or i get bored of black.

so heres some pics. keep in mind: A) cars filthy. Will clean it tomorow. B) It needs lowering i know, im saving for it now!

I'll give it a good clean and polish tomorow, and ill debadge the boot and doors if i have the time, then, its off to the body shop on monday to be spoiled rotten Very Happy

comments welcome.

#21: Re: Sneakys Sport - Spoiler! - Updated 07/07/10 Author: Lowercase, Location: East Sussex PostPosted: Thu Jul 08, 2010 2:54 am

i thought about dewipering the rear, but i dont want to loose practicality.

the masks ive been thinking about, but i may get a spare set to do that, i dont really want to do any mods that i cant undo when it comes to selling it on if you get me?

yea exhaust will be tackled soon, as well as a BMC induction kit.

but up next is suspension, gunna go for some Gaz or failing that some FK highsports.

i might yea when is it?

i dewipered mine because i use to drive a van so never really bother about it plus any mist on it the heater sorts that out Smile

yeah i love it.. it looks good but not chav and in your face has a nice purr to it but if you floor it gives a good growl... and thats on my 1.4 Smile

best thing is they have warranty on it you can choose the tip and how loud you want it. plus if after a while you decide you want a diff tip or sound etc they replace the back box to what you want and you only have to pay for parts. and its shiney Smile

yeah i was looking at the red and white half n half lights for the rear...

ok, so ive had some time off, and have been working on my sterio.

i had an old mutant amp laying around with some nasty damage to it after it was ina crash. so, i took it apart, and began rubbing it down, rubbing out the deep scratch.

then i began to prime it and rub down again:

then began on the top coats, iron grey Smile

sanded and another coat

then a shot of clear, heres the bottom.

and top

while that was drying, i gave the trim a shot of satin black

and put it all together and gave it a polish. ive also tidied up the edges since these were taken:

really happy with how it came out, looks proper smart Smile

not gunna run a sub, not at this point anyway, i dont want to loose my boot space and add more weight.

i build a false wall to go on the side of my boot to house the amp so that keeps it out the way, am just scratching up my knuckles trying to run the wires down now!

thanks davek - you'll see me soon im sure, im moving back up to winchester on the 23rd august, you coming down to bounemouth meet on the 29th? could convoy it if you want?

thanks shaker, got some calls to make (insurance - just to double check my premium wont go up like they promised, and garage - for quote on getting the tracking done and torsion bar adjusted, gunna fit the struts myself) but i should be ordering my coils begining of the week, kamracing made me a good deal on a AP APF kit as they recomended them over the FK Highsports.

so im excited, gunna have to starve myself for a bit, but i wanted it to be done before trax.

thanks for the comments guys.

i wrapped my false wall for the boot

and then set about mounting the freshly refurbished amp

and mounted it in the car, few wires to attatch still but, will do that at the bournemouth meet when i get the new LG head unit wired up.

was a great colour match with the rest of the boot and looks really tidy - looks less obvious in person, so very happy with that Very Happy

and... finally... a special box arrived this afternoon Very Happy

soo pretty, got a mate coming over on sunday to give me a hand Smile

thats all for now really.

ciao Very Happy

Oh nice! What brand/model coilovers are they? Let us know how they ride.

I had coils on my old car and the ride was terrible, but I really want to low my 206 and coils are the best option!

ah those pics made me all nostalgic... I remember watching my car's springs being changed and then stepping into a lowered car with a brand new set of 17" 205 rims... felt like a dream... all the way till I stacked it going round a corner about a month later Laughing that'll teach me to get carried away..

Looks sweet though. Hope you have fun taking it for a spin... try to beat rush hour though!

They are AP APF Coilovers, not cheap so im hoping the ride will be good and not too bone-shattering, they will be firm but not uncomfortable apparently so, ill definately post my opinion on them.

oh dear pete hehe, ill try not to stack it anyway! im a pretty safe driver id say hehe. is a straight road home anyway hehe, few roundabouts so should be good Very Happy

there's no screws or velcro etc holding it in. its just the shape of it, i just angle it so the top part sticks up into the trim and push the bottom up to the side of the boot. made it with a card template first to make sure its a rele snug fit, that thing isnt going anywhere!

thanks for the comments guys Razz good too meet you finaly too dan and juan.

the bracket for the tyreweld was just a strip of metal i found lurking in the garage.

i bent it around the can, gave it a shot with some satin black, and then used a self tapper to attach it to the boot wall.

i used the little carpet flap thats already there to cover the pre drilled earthing point, and tucked the screwed end in there, and then just plop the can in and bend it around again so its snug.

where abouts in surrey was the longlife exhaust people? and will i have to leave the car there a few days?

Nah, takes them about 4 hrs to do the cat back. You just have to kill four hours!

Not too much diff in price. Mine was £279 inc vat and fitting.

But at least you would get the car back in the same day, rather than having to leave it there for a few days.

I got a stainless Powerflow exhaust from Totton, just the otherside of Southampton if that helps. Nicely done with the option of different tail pipes which they can weld there and then to the system. Again, about sub £300 bracket.

yea im part way through doing a spare centre console, i basicaly finished one part, but wasnt paying attention and applied a bit to much heat and melted a bit of the pattern off, so after that balls up i started it again. the centre console is really hard to do so im taking my time on it this time.

if i sod it up again then ill give up on that bit, and try something a bit more creative Wink thinking of doing some vintage tattoo inspired filigree with a stencil and stuff, and maybe carry the theme onto the rocker cover etc, in a mix of satin black with gloss black art work on, make it quite subtle and classy like. and if that looks good then ill carry it onto the amp in the boot too maybe, who knows...

(just a little fact-oid - i used to be really into art and graffiti, i went to art college and everything but dropped out of the course when my teachers killed all passion i had for it... so, car modding is my new medium Smile

stay tuned i guess Razz

and just a quick thank you for all the interest and comments this thread seems to get, i know its not a hyper tuned pocket rocket like most the big rollers on this forum, but i do like coming back to it and seeing people asking/pming me questions about how i did this and that etc. very motivating, so cheers!

I like the sound of that, I've always preferred subtle mods, where you can see someone has put a bit of thought into it rather than bolt on a spoiler.

That's a real pity, the establishment have always frowned upon anything vaguely non-conformist. I've been aerosol artist since the 80's - genuine old school - keep your spirit alive, don't let others beat the enthusiasm or passion out of you!
Moving your passion to another thing is better than giving up completely, good for you!

Did you ever get those carbon fibre trim bits finished? Any chance of some pics?

Oh and I thought it was ste who got his roof sprayed and Jord who got it wrapped?

im still to finish the centre console. the clock surround is just bloody impossible though!!!

but ive done gear surround, door handle surrounds and side air vent surrounds.

ill have a chin wag with jord, i remember hearing that its hard to get the finish looking shiny.

Well, thought i'd give a quick post listing my future plans for the pug, so:

-> Gloss Black Vinyl Roof - Might Have It sprayed later if i like it.
-> Sort My headunit wiring out, nice and cheap.
-> get rid of that gash gear knob!
-> Black mesh zunsport grill

then we get onto the bigger stuff...

->Interior Retrim. Either grabbing some seats out of the Megane f1 or a porche or something equaly nice.
but most likely, just having my standard seats and door card inserts tastefully retrimed in leather. either light tan or black (with black perforated centers) or a two tone of both.

might even have the top of the dash and pilars covered in alcantara aswell. but seats first. pillars ill do myself.

-> Exhaust, nothing too epic. im not looking for insane BHP boosts, this car was intended to be a quality cuise machine.

-> A few panels could do with a tidy up and respray due to stone chips an a nasty scratch, isnt too obvious but it bugs me.

thoughts, sugestions and comments always welcomed and considered.

stay funky people.

what gear knob do you mean the sp one?

and getting the dash done in alcantra is expensive if its the real stuff. i done a Audi R8 door card once cost £1400!!!!!

but i like the ideas mate sounding good!

yea the dash could cost big bucks. so, im still open to alternatives there. the dash will be the last thing to be tackled no doubt lol.

but the retrim is something very high on the upcoming list, trying to get quotes at the moment so i can get saving.

and yea, the gear knob in my car is like, half leather, half chrome. the gear shift plate is chrome too. and other than looking a bit cheap, its deadly when the sun hits it, actully blinds me.

see?

so im looking at replacing the knob with either something like this:

or just a full leather version of what i already have.

the ball could look quite classy i think, but i need to see what the stick is like under the current knob, if its all scratched and uggly, then, it will sorta ruin the effect.

gunna respray the chrome plate too.

tbh mate get a SP one and if the stick is a bit scratched why not cut it down a bit?

why not look at a flocked dash instead of alcantra?

yea, the sp one has the manual gears written on it though.

ill be brave this week and try pull the knob off - without smashing my self in the face - and see what the situation is like.

i thought about flocked, but its a bit track car and rough for the style im going for.

sorta trying to get the racelook but with that little OEM subtle luxury type feel. clean, sporty, simple, but with that little something special to it.

so ill look at suede, fauxsuede and all these other alternatives. or even just a good interior cleaner to take some of the shine off the dash.

that audi one was always going to be expensive, especialy on the R8 - the optional extras on that (which everything is) are just extortionate.

hell, something like this would do nicely.

www.meanmachines.biz/s...e=googleps

doesnt need to be expensive. just dont want it blinding me! and not look too tacky and cheap

good point about the SP one lol didnt even think!

the audi was done off the extras thing he decided after. fauxsuede probably the best bet.

that bloody cat i hit on the way to trax f****d up my standard grill and broke a bracket on my fog light.

so i need to get the bumper off soon anyway so i can finaly sort it out. will switch the grills then.

and yup, faux suede is the way to go on the dash i think. is pretty damn cheap so could probably have a go at doing it myself.

bit of patience and some help from my dear mother - shes made a few chairs in her time heh.

ah well, seats first. time to get saving.

hey guys, im in a good position to snag some subaru impreza sti front bucket seats for well under £100. bit tatty, but i have the intention of getting them retrimmed anyway so that doesnt bother me.

question is, whats my best bet on getting them to fit? having the subaru frames modified to fit the pug, or haveing the pug ones modified to fit the scooby seats?

cheers guys.

haha well... i took a trip down to jap performance parts today after having a chat with a guy about a couple of recliners he had going for £40 in need of a retrim. sadly when i got there there werent two matching seats. so i had a look around what they had and in a bit of a heart over head moment i came away with 2 Recaro Speed recliners from an Evo 4/5/honda type r's

They need some attention, but bugger it lol always wanted some, finaly bit the bullet and just did it.

planning to retrim the centres myself as they just pop out and are a doddle. so i can save some cash there.

drivers side needs a bit of foam in the bolster but otherwise is in good nick.

passenger side needs a bit more tlc. but ill speak to some trimmers and see what they'd quote for just the bolsters to be retrimmed/repaired. whilst i tackle the sub frame dilemma.

planning to retrim them in quite a generic trim so that i can move them from car to car. black leather/alcantara sides with a dark grey mesh/alcantara insert or something of the like.

proper supportive though and more importantly, dead comfy! my 206 ones kill my back after half an hour - i think i must slouch or somethin! Wink

anyway, pics: excuse the s**t camera
they need a clean up, are filthy atm.

picked up a 306 gti6 today to drive while i finish my 205 (though that will probably just be for the mrs to drive and me to drive on the weekends)

so the 206 will be up for sale if anyone fancies it. has done 19,000 miles. will sell the coils and front splitter seperate if some one wants them, and will do a part ex on the black nims if some one has some standard 15" to trade. but would rather sell as is as it saves me faffing about with swapping the suspension back.
