Hello everyone

I started my car up today after leaving it standing for 2 days, started up fine and everything was alright. I drove to where I was going for half an hour, and on my way back just two streets from home I was waiting for some dithering fart to go along so I could turn into a junction, I went to pull away and the car stalled, my sidelights went out and everything, couldnt see the engine management light. I turned the ignition and it kept turning over but no spark, after a few attempts I taken the key out and put it back in, and it was fine again. A bloke who came over suggested to me it could be because of the weather, but the engine temp was at its usual running of 85-90 degrees.

Its a 57 reg with 19400 miles, been serviced 4 times and is due an auxilary belt change so I will mention this to the garage. I would be grateful if people could tell me what might have gone wrong with my engine and what the possible fix (or suspect) could be, it is fine for now but I don't want it to happen again

I've tried searching and used the shout box before posting this

Thanks Smile

Unfortunately it expired September, but I have a 12 month extended warranty that excludes wear and tear items such as brakes, clutches, gearboxes etc

It did have a problem of sparking at 2000revs and juddering a lot until it slowly settled to normal idle, but this was fixed with an ecu update as the dealership could not find anything mechanically wrong with it

Is this likely to be a new coilpack or ecu job?

Is the EML on now?

What spark plugs did you fit when you serviced it?

Been reading up about 206s cutting out, is what happened to me likely to be due to Coil Pack?

Does that mean that after a certain point they stopped putting Sagem coil packs in 206s? I've started it up and driven it 3 times since the cut out and it was all fine, is there a fine chance it really was just down to temperature and having been sat for two days? I've read my Haynes book and it says I should spray the connections on the ignition systems with WD40 to stop damp

I might be making too much of this but I rely on the car a lot and will be taking it to Fast Show and don't particularly want it to happen again incase it cuts whilst Im moving

Thanks all for your replies so far
