Both side and dip bulbs on driver's side have apparently failed. Main beam, indicator and rear lights all still work. Since two bulbs have gone at once is it possible it's a wiring problem?
I ask because I've seen the instructions for changing the offside bulbs and they seem even more complicated than the nearside one I spent two hours on recently 
Also, can anyone recommend a good auto electrician in Coventry, Nuneaton, Hinckley area? because in this weather I'd regard it as an investment.....

It would be unusual for two bulbs to blow together but the side lamp might have blown previously unknown to you, its more obvious when one of the dip beam lights goes out.

You could be right! My wife's been using it during the snow in preference to her Puma and she's not the sort to drive on sidelights

2 hours to change a bulb on a 206
There one of the most easiest cars to change bulbs on around today.
The most taxing part is un clipping the washer bottle filler tube for the offside, that must take all of about 5 seconds tops

quite common on 206's for when one bulb blows the other will only last a few days / weeks so this could of happened if both have blown it would be easier to remove the grill and take the lights out compleatly took me 10 minutes to do this the other day

What you talking aobut take the light out is easier?
To change the bulb on a 206 is easy you do not have to take the light out no way.
Take washer bottle neck off on drivers side and pasenger side just unclip the backing plate.
No headlght remove needed.

Ive never had a problem with mine.
Try doing some newish Renault or big Citroen's then you would be crying
206 are p**s easy to change the bulbs on.

Still easy and no need to take headlight out. Done it on mine with no problem what so ever.
