Hi,

My other half's 206 HDi Dturbo 3-Door (52 Plate) has developed a fault...

The drivers side front seat belt is not freely pulling out, it stops every inch or so and you have to gently pull it, release it, pull it, release it, etc. in order to get it out enough to put it on.

I think we need to get a new seat belt - are there multiple types, and if so - what do I need?

Am I right that I just need a Drivers Side front seat belt WITH pre-tentioner?

Cheers guys!

You could try dis-mantling the seat belt and greasing it up to try and free it.

If you have seat belt pretentioners, you'll need a multiplexed one. And make sure they are unfired.

Great - I thought so, cheers for the clarification. I think I will take it apart and try and grease it first.

The non plexed / multiplexed thing doesnt matter with the seatbelt pretensioners Wink

It only the airbags that are different

Not a good idea to take seatbelts apart unless you know what your doing.

As well as a very strong spring you also have the explosive pretension in there.

Just replace the seatbelt.

Wasn't sure if they used different connectors or not, so just said to get a mux one to be on the safe side.

Think Jared has some seat belts for sale [pugJH]

OK - I'll get a new seat belt from a breakers.

Am I right then that there are only 2 types of front seat belt for a 3 Door 206?

With Pretensioner and Without Pretensioner?

Obviously I need a WITH Pretensioner if thats the case!

Cheers,

Ad. Smile

All UK spec 206's will have pretensioners.

Get one for a NON accident damaged car, also get the matching buckle attached to the seat.

So Multiplexed / Non-Multiplexed it doesnt matter, just get the seatbelt and matching buckle - got you, cheers. There is a V reg 206 in the local scrap yard, will go and check this out.

Thanks,

Ad.
