right guys heres the scope. ive basically changed everything on the front of my car suspension wise, new top mounts, shocks, springs, droplinks, arb bushes, wichbones with balljoints and there's still a knocking coming from the front. soundslike its from the os front like a hollow knocking noise. 3 garages have checked it and they cant find anything loose and all the nuts n bolts are tight and a ducks a**e!
has anyone had this probem and solved it because it doing my head in and if it keeps it up the cars going to have a date with a gallon of petrol n a box of swan!
btw its a 2000 w reg gti.
much thanks for any help and please dont clutter this thread with spam!

is it the top mounts ? think i have this aswell! like a loose knock when you go over bumps ???

My old 1.1 had it aswell, sold it on they got it fixed and im sure they said it was the top mounts. If its the same thing as mine (a hollow rattle/knock) then it could be that

rollbar mounts?

jack the car up so the wheel's a good few inches off the ground and stick a large pry bar under the tyre and keep lifting it up and down and see if you can see where the play is. if it's lowered on springs there will already be a bit of play before it gets harder to lift the wheel
