Hi all
i have been finishing the work on my 180 to get her back on teh road after failing the M.O.T
axle bearings (Done only one side needed replacing)
hand brake (Done set of new cables)
cv boot (New one fitted)
exhaust mount (Bent the mount arm and out a new rubber on it)
loose drop links (re tapped the thread and brute force)
after doing all of this i have came to the great job of bleeding the brakes
3/4 bleed nipples snapped so i brought a easy out kit and that snapped as well there is no way they were being undone so i drilled them out and replaced them with some mate bolts
i am now having problem bleeding my brakes i cant seem to get any pressure in the pedal at all and about half way down when pressing the pedal there is a clonk noise
when i undo the bleed nipple and press the pdeal the fuild just dripples out

Just sounds like it's still got air in the system. Check the new bleed nipples are in ok & try again, preferably with an assistant.

You can't build up fluid pressure in a system full of air so I would use a one man bleed kit, they're quite cheap and, similar to how it's done in a garage, this pushes fluid through the whole system without relying on the master cylinder for pressure.
Read the instructions on how to use it though, if you are going to use your tyre to supply the air pressure then reduce the pressure from normal first, around 10psi max is all you need

GTI 180 brake bleeding should really be done with Peugeot Planet else you can damage the ESP system.

i have been told by a bmw mech that you should connect it up to the computer and tell it to run the abs pump while you bleed the brakes else the abs wont work at all

Yes, if you have air trapped in the ABS unit then the ABS unit valves may need to be cycled to clear out any air pockets in there. However a one man bleed kit puts no strain on anything inside the ABS unit and is the first thing to do in order to refill the system

easy enough to be honest
1. jack rear car up and put on axle stands (point 2)
2. remove wheels, disconnect hand brake cables, unplug ABS sensors
3. undo brake pipes from calipers (get a pot ready to collect old fuild)
4. crack off all four axle bolts (DO NOT REMOVE)
5. put wheels back on lower car back on two wheels
6. slide under the car and remove axle holding bolts (BEWARE axle will fall forwards)
7.jack the car back up and roll axle out from under the car.
8. get a big mate to pick it up and put it on a work mate.
depending on which side you need to remove let me know
