Have just taken another gti in to break, its in very good condition appart from the engine. It sounds like an old ford fiesta (top end is very tappety) The owner said to me the oil has allways been ok, so im abit confused as to why its tapping so bad??

Is it just the noise or does it run rough?

I drove it 40 miles last nite when i picked it up and it felt a little down on power, the tapping is very loud when you rev it.

I have re checked the oil and its dry so found the reason its tapping. I am thinking of fitting the engine from the other gti i have just stripped only done 65k and maybe try to sell it as a complete car as its in lovely condition.
