Hi Everyone

I am extremely interested in meeting new people with 206s, or even just new people who are car nuts!

Ive had a brief look around on google having a look for local car clubs as this area seems to be a bit dead. But dont seem to find much.

Hence making this thread.

1) Who is the area rep for the South West?
2) It would be good to know who is interested in attending meets. Perhaps we should get a list going?
I know that I am at top of the South West but there must be people around?

For the list I suggest putting info as below.
Username - Location - Desired Meet Areas - Prepared to travel?

So

1. Shortstuff - Gloucester - Glos, Cheltenham, Bristol, Weston - Yes if people are definitely going to turn up.
2.
3.
4.
5.

I am sure if a couple of us got something going more people would join in and we could actually have something going here.

2. Hayes (Hayes_ctfc) - Cheltenham - Cheltenham, Gloucester, Gloucestershire in general, Weston, Bristol, Swindon, Wiltshire area - Yes to travel if a guaranteed meet will happen with good numbers
Get off the bandwagon, and put down the handbook.

I believe I am the area rep. for the South West, and like the rest generally happy to look at attending something in the Glos / Chelt. / Bristol / Wiltshire areas, depending on my personal diary (which can be rather full at times).

So kick something off, and we'll get it organised!

Id love to attend the Summer Meet but I am moving house end of July so need to save my pennies.

I do wonder if its worth splitting the South West, as it can be classed as a huge area?

If we can get atleast 4-5 people in the top area of the South West we can get a meet sorted one weekend?

i used to organise meets for the southwest for quite a while but havnt done it for a few years after the site crashed i enquired about being area rep again and was told i had to write an essay on why i was suitable for the job which i thought was a bit pathetic so i didnt bother there is quite a few of us in the devon area that get on quite well and go to shows and stuff together so would be up for a meet Smile

I think to get things going we need to look at the SW in 2 parts, North and south half, top and bottom if you will.

I dont think people would be prepared to travel a long distance for the first couple of meets going on the track record of the lack of successful meets in this area recently.

Would you agree rttam?

I would agree with that. If the turnouts were better I would be tempted to travel further. It seems pointless if only a few turn up tho. I don't know if there are many in south southwest tho not seen many on here so far.

I was thinking of getting a Poll going with potential meet locations, see what the response is like then put some potential dates?

I live in Torquay. Wouldn't mind travelling for a decent meet, my gf is at uni in Bristol so even up that way would be fine for me as I would have a place to stay Smile

Someone get something organised Razz

im in swindon, and have meet vortech-s and a few others on route to a meet in birmingham, im alway up for a meet in and around the swindon area, actully looking at setting something up in the swindon area as soon as i get my hdi gti back (turbo blowing ftw lol). probably looking at the end of july, as my birthday is the 27th and i have that weekend off work. so would anyone be interested in a meet, on sunday the 29th july in swindon, thinking meet at coate water, then maybe travel throught town to the megabowl, and have a few games. i can sort food from domino's (staff discount, so 50% off), which is about a 5 min drive from mega bowl. vortech you up for it.... (late bday meal for myself)
