Did a search but as you'd expect it came back with a lot of posts ...
So simple question:
What is the difference between a GTI and non-GTI track control arm aka suspension arm 
Is it just the two big mounting bushes???

The track control arm is on the steering rack.
Do you mean the lower wishbone? I think GTi has different inserts.

That's the track rod ... suspension arm is also known as a track control arm!
Thanks Macca, that's what I thought. I guess they are stronger because the non-GTI ones last less than two years on our CC!
I checked ServiceBox and it gives two part numbers for our CC and our small HDi ... my assumption is those marketing "GTI arms" actually don't know the difference ... or sell cheaper non-GTI ones for GTI prices!!!

Never heard of a lower wishbone being referred to as a track control arm as it's a fixed item.
In my experience the track control arm comes from the steering box and connects to the track rod end and can be adjusted to control the tracking of the vehicle.

Funny, I've always referred to them like that ... probably because the manuals I have tend to call them that too.

also called wishbone arms, suspension arms, etc.
You are right, the track rod end is connected to the steering rack ... on the the end of the track rod (it's a separate piece on most racks).
But each to his own ... as long as you know what it is you want ...
Anyway, seems the GTI arms have one metal and one rubber mounting bush ..
