Snatchy Power Steering
-> 206 Problems

I have only recently bought my 206 but I find the power steering really snatchy. When I'm going round a constant radius corner there is a lot of force pulling against me and then when I let go the wheel whips back very quickly to about 45 degrees off centre and then returns more slowly (with a rate and force I would expect). Is this a fault or just another example of quality French engineering?

Doesn't sound normal. Power steering and returning feels all dandy on my pug now.

I had a whacky wheel straightening like yours after coming out of corners, when my tracking was miles out (also very uneven tyre pressure might impact).

Does your car go in straight line if you let go of wheel? What about if you foot you put down, or up?

If it tracks fine, only then it's time to look at the steering system

It is dead straight under normal circumstances, but it does pull to one side under heavy acceleration. I think that's due to a slow puncture in the front left wheel though.

I'll get that sorted first and then see if there's any improvement
