Good morning!

Basically I have both break lights not working (only the 3rd Break light works) the running lights work fine but the second set of bulbs do not want to work.

I have checked

Fuses
Switch behind the glove box
Checked for any corrosion

I know this has been covered already and I have been through the forum to check for solution but still I cannot solve my problem.

Do you have any solutions please?

Thanks

Elton Gouder

Hoping you have also checked the bulbs?? Should be ones with 2 filaments and not single filament bulbs. They are both the same size and fitting so can get mixed up.

I have checked and changed the bulbs and still no luck!

Update: I dont know if this relates to it. When I press the break pedal the milage display in my dashboard switches off.

Any more suggestions please?

Sounds like wackyness in the BSI...

The wiring looks fairly straightforward; switched power feed to brake switch, brake switch to 2 fuses in the BSI, from there to left (and 3rd from the same fuse, but separate wires by the looks of it) and right side brake light. All brake lights should all ground to same spot...

The left hand and 3rd brake lights are wired in parallel so if the 3rd works so should the left (unless a break in wiring, poor contact in a connector etc)
If your mileage display drops out as you apply the brake, that strongly suggest something weird going on in the BSI...

As you apply the brakes, any shift in brightness in any of the other rear bulbs?

Tried a volt meter on the connectors to the rear clusters to verify you're getting the signal there? (would suggest problem in the cluster)
