Finally getting around to doing bits on my 206. I was wondering if the comms 2000 unit from a 207 would fit my 206 (2005 2.0 HDi sport). I am only really after the bit for the MFD and they look the same. Plenty of 207 ones on ebay at good prices.

Hi Steve, when you say the bit for the MFD which bit are you referring to? I'm not huge on the 207 but I might be able to help out.

And from my experience with using comm units from different models of 206 you will likely have working indicators, lights wipers, horn but an airbag fault. Don't hold me to that but it can be quite hit and miss...

It is the bit on the end of the wiper switch. It has the push button in the end and can be prised off. I have taken mine off and there are no electrical connections in that part. I have also taken the small end cap off tried pressing inside it with a coctail stick and it changes a couple of things on my dispaly. I would put up a picture if I knew how!

Wow! I did it. It is the bit in the red circle. It pops of no electricle connections. It has the same markings on it as mine except the 2 arrows for the push button.

Yes. Mine does not have the push button on the end mine is fixed. If I take the little end cap off and poke a cocktail stick down it changes the time to outside temp. So it may already be switched on in the BSI.

Yeah that would suggest that it's all ready to go. I would still worry about airbag compatibility between the 2 comm units though. I don't know the exact science behind it but I've always had issues with it. It could well be worth a shot and if you do please post results back here Smile I would be very interested to see if this works.

Yep will do, and thanks for your help. I do intend only to use the end bit which has no connections in it at all so hopefully it will be all good.

Fitted the MFD on Thursday, but due to work only just checked all functions. Poked a coctail stick down the window wiper stalk and all works so no need to be activated in the BSI. Just need to get hold of a Comms 2000 unit with the push button on the windscreen wiper stalk. So if anyone has a broken one and the price is good I might be interested. I can get a 207 one for £30 and as I only need the bit on the end not worried about whether the rest works or not.

Finally got around to getting a comms 2000 unit for the MFD. Only needed the end bit on the wiper stalk with the push button. The unit I got was a Dav one, the unit on my car is a Delphi. Thought it would fit. WRONG! Different internals. O well back to eBay shopping.

All 206 comm 2000 units are interchangeable.

If the 206 has ESP fitted then obviously it limits you to one with the ESP steering angle sensor fitted & to calibrate it once fitted.

Blimey that was quick. Thanks very much for that. I am sure it has not got ESP. I will swap it over when I get back from my hols, although I have to get another alloy as wifey hit a pothole last week and bent the NSF rim. Might get a full set with good tyres and have a change from the origionals. Thanks again for that.

Sorry, just to confirm Mr BSI. I can change the comms 2000 to the Dav one from my Delphi one and not have to set it up in the BSI! It just plugs and plays.

regards.
