Was having a good look at our 206 yesterday and I realised the timing belt is starting to crack... not good! The car's 13 years old with 47k on the clock and I think it's still the original belt on it so better get it changed pronto!
Just wondering how big a job it is and if water pump, pulleys etc. are advisable to be replaced at same time. Not got a lot of time on my hands so will probably stick it in a garage to get done... does anyone have an idea what it'll cost roughly?
Either that or I'm tempted to buy the parts myself and have a crack at it anyway - the kit is about 53 quid on Euro Car Parts. Timing belts are usually fairly substantial jobs, what's it like on a 206? Doable at home or one for the pros?

TU1 timing belt is one of the easiest ones there is to do.
Get the complete kit including water pump.
You should also change the auxiliary drive belt at same time
