Resistance going into gear
-> 206 Problems

#1: Resistance going into gear Author: Chriz1 PostPosted: Sun Aug 14, 2016 12:03 pm

Hi all ,
My mrs's 206 hdi is sometimes not always has difficulty going into 1st gear from standstill if it's rolling along at 1-5 mph it goes in smoothly,
Also reverse crunches a little when selecting again not always other times it's fine.
Clutch does bite near top of pedal however it doesn't slip and changes gear fine when going, no noises either.
I've read gear selector rods can wear could
This be the problem or is it time for a new clutch cara covered 111k and drives faultlessly otherwise

Any ideas?

Our 2004 206 1.1 (48.5k) does exactly what you describe in 1st and Reverse as well. It may be the synchro getting worn, but nothing to worry about IMO.

Had similar issue on my 1.4hdi. I changed the gearbox oil in it, drove for a 1000 miles and changed it again. Definitely helped especially from cold. get a couple of these and give it a go.
