Let's get the vehicle details down first, then I'll get into the problem.

206, 1.4, Petrol, manual, 2001 (51 plate).

Appears to be no oil leaks, I've had to top up about <200ml since April 2017. Work done that I can remember:

Steering arm and track rod end. (I believe just on one side)
4 new tyres last year
new passenger side front caliper (old one failed)
new front discs and pads
new copper brake pipes front to back.
nearside wheel bearing replaced
offside front ball joint, suspension had excessive play.

That's all I can think of right now.

Right, the problem.

I have a squeak, but it's not a belt squeel etc, it's a definite squeak, only thing I can think of that sounds similar, is a spring squeaking. And it's very specific when it does it.

I don't think it's clutch related as gear changes are smooth and it doesn't do it on bite point or after.

The squeak only happens if I accelerate. For example, short pressing of the accelorator makes something from the front end squeak. If I go over a speed bump, turn, brake, not a sound, but if I accelerate after the speedbump, squeak. It's not constant, it's as though the motion of the car is making something squeak, I'm assuming something that might be rusty.

Another point, it seems to stop after a while, not sure if this is because of heat or something warms up and stops the squeak, i'm baffled.

But also, at other times, it doesn't do it at all, I can drive around, go shopping, and then after I set off it'll start doing it again, I can't pin point exactly where the noise is, or when it's going to do it. I am baffled!

So what could be causing what sounds like a rusty spring, to squeak if I accelerate? If I accelerate in a short burst, it'll likely do it on demand, if it's going to do it, and other times, accelerating in this way makes absolutely no sound.

I'm booked in for timing belt and water pump on the 23rd, if anyone can give me clues as to things I could get them to look at while the garage have my car that'll be a great help.

Well wouldn't you know, I managed to get the noise on video, although interestingly, this was clutch only, making the car jump forward lightly on the bite point of 1st gear.

www.youtube.com/watch?...e=youtu.be

Usually, it happens when i'm already in gear, for example, in 2nd, over a speedbump, and noise when I accelerate, clutch pedal not being touched. Is this something movement related or something that may need lubricating around the gearbox? Clutch fork? Can that even be lubricated easily? Suggestions and ideas welcome.
