Hi, just posting in case anyone can offer anything else to try before I seriously think about parting with my 206. My first ever car, had it nearly 10 years and it owes me nothing, but it's got under 80k miles on the clock, is in great nick inside, and drives great....when it starts!

It's a 2006 SPORT S, 1.4 petrol, and was running fine. Passed the MOT week before Christmas, then 2 weeks later, wouldn't start. It turned over, but didn't fire, so I thought it was the battery because it was cold and it only gets fired up a few times a month, so took the battery out and trickle charged it and put it back it. then I got an Engine Immobiliser Fault display.

In the month and a half since I have...
- tried a second (non electric) key
- replaced battery in the fob for the main key and tried that
- tried the BSI reset procedure half a dozen times
- removed the shunt fuse for 15 mins and replaced
- purposely drained the battery, removed the battery, charged and replaced

All without and positive result.

So I think I'm left with an expensive visit (tow!) to a pug garage, or giving up on the old girl. I had an electrical issue (cutting out at 30mph, air bag warning etc etc) 3 years ago which was solved after lots of work, £750, and a month in a garage, but was ultimately solved when they replaced just 1 inch of cracked and corroded wire hidden away somewhere. So I'm not sure how much I want to sink into a fix if this is going to happen time and time again.

So any ideas on things I can try? Bar trying to buy a Peugeot Planet diagnostic thing, I'm at a dead end Sad

Looks like you keys and immobiliser have lost connection ... you need to reconnect them using PP.

If you hold the key near the lock and open the door, does the car beep?

Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.
