forgive me for hijacking this thread but what dose the intercooler do and how do they fit? would just putting an intercooler on increase bhp? cheers colin |
Intercoolers are a fairly simple fit yes, you can only use one if you have a turbo and what it does is allows air to pass through its alluminium viens cooling it with natural air movement just like a radiator with water. And the reason for it is cold air combusts alot better than warm in turn giving instant extra power consider it a huge cold air fed induction kit lol |

Fitting the DW10 from the 206 would be the easiest, cos the sub frame should be the same/similar, so everything would just drop in. Then just intercool it |
A little bit of a nooby question but I have the DW8 What engine is the DW10????? I aint to sure on the engine codes just the engines themselves lol |
DW8 is the 1.9 D
DW8B is the 1.9D with an extra horse, bit more electrical and more efficent
DW10 is the 2.0hdi
DV6 is the w**ky 1.6HDi
DV4 is the 1.4HDi |
Didn't know that... I'm guessing mine is that one because could never understand people with 1.9D saying it wasn't economical as i get 55 round town |
If its the DW8 its the WJY engine code which in the the VIN.
If its the DW8B you'll have WJZ in the VIN
You'll need the engine, ecu and bsi & transponder if the ECU is locked. |
Ha thought mine was the dw8 but from chassis number its a dw8b yet its slow as hell and only does bout 35 to the gallon round town |

standard is 90... can be increased to about 120 with intercooler and remap. pretty rapid |
With a remap on a hdi90 you are looking at 115-120 bhp, with an intercooler and a remap you can get 140bhp+ depending on the map |
That was the kind of increase i was thinkin, i'v seen a few 90's and 110's with a remap very impressive deffo gonna have to do this conversion |

Yes... Mines a pre plexed 2.0 HDI and would fit straight on but would need a gearbox change etc |
