Urm, preplexed 206's have a radio stalk.
Are the stalks round or square?
Its a nice simple process tbh, follow the shut down, then a flat blade up the bottom of the steering wheel pops the airbag off, dont pull it off, unclip the airbag *each side and middle red wire* then undo the bolt in the middle half way, pull the steering wheel towards you, if it doesnt move, hit one side of it then pull, leaving the bolt on stops the steering wheel hitting you in the face *useful hint from MrBsi* then undo the bolt fully pull wheel off and put to the side.

Undo the clip that holds the com2000 inplace then lift the plastic clips holding it to the steering column, unclip the plugs from the back, sure it has 2 or 3, pull the com unit towards you. DONE, in a nut shell anyway.

How do you shut down a BSI then and what is a BSI? lol

it's an electrical brain that should be shutdown using the procedure on this link www.206info.co.uk/Foru...edure.html

i have disconnected the battery using the normal method in the past, but by doing it that way you run the risk of the BSI failing to 'wake up'. there have been owners faced with large bills because of this.

As long as the BSI is shut down correctly & battery disconected the airbags will be fine.

Yes mate think i have the com2000 as I have the stereo stalk on the column. Pretty sure that makes it a COM2000 model. Got the usual floppy indicator stalk and keep indicating the wrong way and full beaming people!

Had a look at the column earlier and it doesnt look too difficult to get to..just a bit worried about the air bag going bang (set all of the air bags off on a lupo once doing similar and had air bag face burn for weeks!!) so im a little apprehensive!

Hi all,

Seems like an obvious one as it seems to be a big ongoing problem but has anyone done this with a how to and with pics?

If not it may be a decent idea..thinking of doing mine but would be good to see it all first.
