Remove the foam, and replace it once you're done. Though when I did mine, I covered the door with deadening, then placed the foam on top with new glue. |

Just remove it, recommend Silent Coat for deadening. |

I used the VIBE sound deadening material (Which might be a way to go) - But for the price you pay for the VIBE stuff, you may aswell go onto eBay and buy some cheap stuff - It all does the same stuff. |

you can rip off the thin foam piece and pack the door with Sound Absorbing Foam (M8050)
www.swanflight.com/sou...e=googleps
you can get it there or cheaper on ebay but be sure to replace the thin foam you strip off or all you will hear is the thin bit of metal thats attached to the lock rattle good luck with this |

Need some help with soundprofing my doors. During the winter the spikes on the wintertyres are quite loud on the motorway.
I have looked into some options, but was wondering what to do about the thin foam piece that is attached to the door. Will that need to come off? Someone told me its there mainly to absorb moisture, hence not sure whether I should lay the soundproofing coat on top of it.
Your help is much appreciated. |
