what gauge cable did you use? also did you bother with a inline fuse?

I have a reel of 3 amp figure of 8 cable from Maplin which I just cut a length off.
I didn't bother with an inline fuse as I'm only plugging phone chargers and sat nav leads into it. The original fuse should be adequate for these. The socket near the handbrake never gets used now, and I'm fairly sure the lighter still looks like new as the car is a no smoking zone.

I fitted a second accessory socket. I put it in the passenger side footwell just below the ashtray, in the gap near the airbag ecu. Took about 10 minutes to do by splicing into the original wiring loom that powers the cigarette lighter. It doesn't light up but that's only through choice and has a black cover over it so you hardly know it's there. Will take a picture next time I go out to the car.

I keep meaning to fit the black cover over my lighter socket, I got one out of a Citroen years ago, maybe get round to it when I change the blown bulb Laughing

Lighter has never been used in my 206 Cool

I know its appealing to me now lol!

their are 3 wires for the cig lighter if you use a pug one,

light
power
earth

just run 3 cables from the original one to that or splice into them,

would look good to!!
