right i had the same problem as you and nearly gave up but this worked for me. keep knocking the bar thats pushing the trailing arm out but only knock the bar about 1inch so that it just becomes free ...

its something to do with the earth, this happened to me and i had to re-solder one of the earth wires back on and all worked fine

when this happened to me, i had to really give the wheel a shake while jiggling the key. i it felt like it wasnt going to come loose but eventually it did

does the clutch pedal make a clicking kind of noise when pressed? could be the cable then, the springs in the adjuster can mess up and not release. same thing happened to me and it was a new cable job

yh, tbh take the alt belt off and see what happens and then you will know for sure what your dealing with.

did you replace the belt with a genuine/good quality belt as i know the cheap ones can st ...
