when my car reaches roughly 80 degrees c, it starts !
idle increases to 1200 rpm and stays there.
if you blip the throttle at standstill the engine misfires.
if you turn the engine off and restart ... |

check the glow plugs ?
if you disconnect the glow plugs then individually touch a live wire from the battery
the glow plug should spark a little, if it doesn't spark its dead..

someone told me once that if you poor a small bit of kerosene/diesel into each plug hole it can clean the seals, sometimes they get covered in carbon and wont seal properly, the kerosene cleans the ca ... |

also look for leaks from your shocks, and for a broken spring, top mounts can go to. done a complete front suspension overhaul on mine recent. no rattles, knocks or funny noises now..

I had the same leak, however mine only had 1 nut bolt so put in 2 extras. the torque/tightness of these fasteners is low to not over compress the seal. I found scale in the connection in mine, cleaned ... |

just checked with a mate, he said the rad fan on a1.1 lx are single speed. However my fan is past its best sounds like a bearing starting to go when operating.... can they be rebuiilt ? |

have you had an oil change recent ? sometimes a bit of oil gets onto the exhaust manifold and gets burnt off.
are your oil and coolant levels staying constant ? |
