Watching this thread, as the error code on the 206 xsi i'm playing with is showing tps error. It's also a fly by wire throttle as well. |

Make sure you're running with bosch spark plugs as well. not ngk. |

Sounds like either a fueling issue, air leak or spark problem. Could very well be the plugs/coil pack. What make are they? |

Replace the coolant temp sensor, it can cause all sorts of weird symptoms when it's playing up. |

If the cam lobes were worn the valves wouldn't be operating correctly and you'd have far worse running than a dodgy idle.
Af what rpm is it idling at? |

No, timing belt is not the cause here.
Is the engine managment light on?
Possible causes of lumpy idle - idle control valve, throttle position sensor, faulty MAF sensor, lamda sensor..... Or som ... |
