If it's any one of the belt, water pump or tensioner dont take the chance, just change the lot. Belt could be stretched, bearing in tensioner or pump could be failing and if it goes completely, your e ... |

I wonder if the belt is too tight........It will appear (visually) to be fine but will sound bloody awful. I believe its the load on the bearing in the tensioner that makes the noise.

Yesterday eve I patched up the tiny holes with exhaust building paste (at least all the ones I could find) and the ticking noise became notably quieter but not eradicated.

Thanks fellas. The car was serviced only 4 months ago, Bosch plugs used and K&N panel added. Been running ok until the last few weeks when I started noticing the ticking.....assuming it to be a manifo ... |

Hmmmm, kinda. Ive also noticed in traffic, pull away from stationary in 1st but leave it in 1st (covering short distances in traffic) upto about 3.5-4k rpm then lift off to slow down creates a muffled ... |
