another thing people failed to mention is the insurance increase after an engine swap, i think it would be far cheaper in the long run to just buy a GTi and swap any bits you want to keep from the XSi

Yes cause its costing a bomb to put right, the lower (even though I was told it would be better) fuel econemy

little update.

smoke problem seems to be alot less, its still there and still annoying, but its not so thick anymore, you can only just see it out the back window (from when inside the car). still ...

hmmm not sure on the comes unit, but if you have esp you should have a switch down to he right of the steering wheel to enable and disable it, what trim level of car do you have, i have a hdi gti with ...

finally got the car back, felt so different to drive compared to the ZR, still smokes, but not as much as it did, so i think another remap back to he std power it will hopefully sort out the problems ...

little update, car is still at the garage, failed its mot on 2 things

1, H.I.D.s (i have halogen bulbs so thats a simple fix)
2, broken coil spring

that was it, emissions were ok

pete a set of 16" tempest went for sale on ebay a day or so ago, for like £50, ok they were silver not gunmetal but the colour is not to hard to sort out,

you wont need to use a telescopic jet, you could just use a fixed jet, that way you could eliminate the high preasure pump.....
