Turn the connector over from how it's shown in your photo. There's a little green tab that you'll be able to push down and it looks like that frees it - but it doesn't
You need to get a slim screw ... |

It is a bodge but it's a good one  much appreciated - if there's a 'proper' way to disable them I'd still like to know.

My passenger seat is Fubar. The recline doesn't and it won't lock back in place. This is a problem with the hinges not with the runners.
A member has offered their seat but it's non airbag so obvi ... |

Great - that 98 filler cap I've seen on ebay would have been a waste then.
