I agree with Steve about the driveshaft, its sounds like a nightmare trying to fit it like that. It may well be the teeth are out slightly which is why it wont locate, you could try to rotate the driv ... |

i put PSF in mine (a GTI), never had any issues with it. just had a search on Google (in case i've been using the wrong stuff!) and the page below indicates you only need the LDS for cold climate for ... |

If you are lucky, it might be an idler pulley rather than the pump. Was on a different car but i had something similar with air con pump, it ended up being the idler which saved me quite a bit of mone ... |

The way i do it these days is with a spring compressor, use that to take all the load out from the top. Jacking the hub is doing similar but i'm not a fan of that, not the safest if the hub shifts (wh ... |

hammer on a socket that's a bit too small, might be enough to grip it. If it does come off, its easy enough to get the bit out of the socket with a metal punch |

try a socket (best fit, ie hexagon only, not a double hexagon style socket) and a bit of heat as suggested. Stainless bleed screws are a good investment, particularly if you plan the keep the car for ... |

not for a GTI. only thing to remove/disconnect is a sensor which is easy to do. The tricky part is the reassembly, as Timon mentions you need to get the surfaces properly cleaned - i spent a good amou ... |
