If you've had the belt done, then could be the usual 180/RC issue that the exhaust cams jumped a tooth or two. |

Indeed, could always go all out and run it on aftermarket management. I'd imagine the hardest part would be getting the engine mounts adjusted for the right angle for the EW lump compared to the XU. |

You've got the belt on the wrong way. It'll only sit tight and fit if it's in the exact layout it should be. Any other configuration and it's either too short or as youve found out seems too long.

Gates more often than not are the OE suppliers to Peugeot, i've pulled off factory belts badged up as Gates, and even gone into the parts counter at a main dealer and been given a Gates belt complete ... |
