Well ive owned mine a while now and ive driven it 120mph and the engine doesn't seem to struggle, how did your friends 'blow' exactly ? I think i get cambelt changed before i do anything serious !! |

Hi, i have a 12 yr old 206 GTI and runs fairly good, i just wondered if anyone out there has performance modded an old GTi and is there much to be had out of the old engine ?

I had similar problem in my MOT the guy fixed it by replacing one of the rear ABS sensors on the ring, no problems since might be the same problem you have ? |

Ive had my GTi a year now know how u feel !! The rear axle replacement at Christmas was the icing on the cake for me i think !! |

I have the same problem with my 206 non plexed, i open the door and no alarm or lights go off when im driving so is this a wiring problem ?

Yeah cheers ive just had an MOT yesterday it passed with new Drop links fitted, i want new arms on but can you get reinforced ones for a GTI that won't wear fast ?

Because i bought the thing for 1000 i dont want to spend another 1000 getting a code and if it was the tracking how i can take it up to 110mph with no steering shakes ? i reckon it might be suspension ... |

I have a 138 GTI (W reg) and for some reason i see the ABS light stay on then go off, then days it will just stay lit ? Is this a common problem and what causes it ?

3rd attempt at taking that god damn nut off the drop links this time with a hacksaw and a hammer and chisel even with 1/3 of the nut cut off and chiselling it like hell the thing still won't budge... ... |

i just remember other cars ive been on they had standard screw fittings, as for the drop links most other cars have a bolt or fixing to anchor down on the opposite end.
