Haven't dealt with 206 specific airbag system yet... But sounds like earth fault which could be collision sensor wiring, cable rotation mechanism (between steering wheel and column) and possibly seat ...

Just moisture in the air could cause electrical issues to show up too, especially with the extremely high voltages in ignition systems;
If the symptoms show up in mist but no rain that would help Smile ...

Yep, most likely in the ignition side; double check battery and earth strap connections for clean tight fit and connection (poor connection won't produce good enough spark) and check around coil pack ...

Does it just click or does the starter motor turn the engine over?
Does the engine try to fire at all (sputter)?

Anything that gives the ECU information about the engine's firing cycle which if giving poor signal makes the data it receives unclear and can send the ECU into safety ...

FWIW the Netherlands RDW puts the official RC (180) registration weight at 1059kgs which should be kerb weight with 1/2 tank of fuel and without driver.

Doesn't have the RHD stuff like metal brake ...
