possibly a CV joint has gone and has been for a while by what you say.
another possibility could be a seized strut top bearing but usually you would hear these more on turning when stationary like ... |

i was under the impression that it did turn just wouldnt release when at position 0, should of said first time eh! |

are you able to remove the lower steering wheel cowling?
i so you should be able to get at the barrel to release the key |

From what you have said about the cable not being easy to fit and you have swapped the clutch fork over, it would sound like this is where the problem is.
if the cable is mega tight it will pull on ... |

yeah the thermostat, when it opens the level will drop slightly especially when just refilled
get the engine really hot and the fan will come on that will be proof its ok |

also check trye pressures as this can have same effect if one is alot lower than the other |

binding brake on one side?? possible cause sticking caliper slides, pads seized in carrier etc basically have them inspected as in the uk the balance of a cars brakes are tested on an MOT test and the ... |

yeah i know what you mean, it takes ages but when i was in the trade we would never let a peugeot/citroen diesel leave the garage after work on cooling system without the fan cutting in!! |

In all fairness if you have had coolant coming from the matrix end and its returning water to the header, its probably ok.
I'm no expert on the 1.4 hdi but i would of expected to see a bleed screw ... |

My dials do this too but usually after a couple of minutes driving they all drop back to rest then spring back into life!! also noticed that headlights blink when changing gear, especially after being ... |

i've known a warbling noise to be an over-tensioned timing belt, not saying yours is but just incase the aux belt doesn't sort it |

there should be two fans although ive never noticed on a pug, usually one for the engine the other to assist when the air con is working |
