Does your car have an oil cooler. As if this starts to leak you would get oil in the water without the signs of a head gasket failure. More common on diesels for this fault but possibly worth looking ...

Sounds like it could be an engine mount or a badly worn cv joint

Put a piece of wood on the back of the wheel and tap the wood with a hammer. Turn it and tap again. Or put on bolt in a couple of threads, get under the car and kick it off. Make sure u clean it ...

Good to see some Mx5 fans on here. If it's a 1.6 do you fancy selling it. Looks a tidy one for the track. We are just building 4 new mx5's for the ma5da championship
