Personally, I wouldn't go to the trouble of swapping the engine from the 1.4 to the 1.6 HDi. Just buy a car that already has this engine in it. Would save so much time and effort.

Mine functions correctly as far as I know.

At rest, it is at 3 o'clock in your terms, and at 10 o'clock at full extent.

I would say the swept area is around 150 degrees.

Have you turned it on again since it idled at 4000rpm?

I replaced the ICV in my old GTi-6 a few years back and it did the same thing, but after turning it on again the idle was lower but not where ...

Have you got power at the coil pack? If you have, then it could be a faulty coil pack itself. Have you tried a different one?
