Sounds like a sensor fault really. Get someone with a PP2000 to read the fault codes. Throttle position sensor or fuel rail pressure sensor comes to mind.

The smaller ball and socket in the picture is the mechanism that tilts the beam sideways, replacing the motor wont do it. It's part of the headlight.

Seems like you've covered most of the obvious reasons. Only thing left to check out is collapsed or clogged DPF filter inside cat converter. Cheapest fix is just to hollow it out.

The dampened 2-part pulley can be replaced with solid pulley, either custom billet aluminum or newer 1-part pulley, but then you'll need to add overrunning clutch to the alternator.

You can use some of the piping, but the intake manifold is different. The blue pipe in the picture above will be pain to fit for sure.

Well then, thats odd. I have two sets of intakes and both have made marks to the rubbers. I've always fitted it with the rubbers on the intake though.
