Have you put petrol in the same jerry can before? If you have, then it could be a case of that some of the old petrol has mixed in with the diesel and hence why the engine wont run properly.

It all depends how high the clutch bite on the pedal is, if its quite near the top, I would think about changing the clutch. If its not, I'd keep an eye on the judder to make sure it doesnt get worse.
