PAS pump and alternator and bracket off before you can get to that one bolt I'm afraid. Although not a hard job |

Wiring will be a nightmare. Also adding about 100 extra BHP you'd have to beef the brakes up |

Just take the heat shield off of the manifold and have a look if there are any cracks or holes |

Could be your alternator. Using power to start up the car but then not being recharged properly whilst driving. Or a dodgy earth somewhere |

I changed my manifold last week (1.6 16v with cat on the manifold)
Wasn't difficult. Just time consuming as you have to remove the power steering pump and alternator and their bracket just to get a ... |

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to get an alternator and fit it tomorrow morning. Hopefully this and a charge if the battery and I'll be on my way again |
