I'm no expert but It could be due to gear change linkage bushes being worn? |

I haven't seen it over heat, and the guy who did my repairs says it never over heated on him either. |

It only clicks for a second or two when opening the door, by the time I've sat down in the drivers seat the noise has stopped and doesn't make the noise again until the car has been parked a while aga ... |
