Try holding the suspension arm in place using a ratchet strap that will stop it attempting to move out when you come to fit the balljoint in place.Tie the crowbar to the lower arm with a piece of rope ...

check that the large torx bolts between chassis and suspension arms are tight,if they re not fully tightened it gives that creaking noise at low speeds that you mention.

Think you really need to get the drums off and have a look to see exactly whats wrong.Like others have said sounds as though it's possible a lining has dropped off but without checking it's impossible ...

If it is the crank oil seal then the timing belt will have to be removed so might be a good opportunity to replace it along with the water pump and auxilliary belt if required. Thumb Up
