I replaced the accelerator pedal on my 1.4 HDi when I had one and it doesn't need any setting up - just swap it over and plug it in.

I get the same fault on my LCD display if I remove the battery from my key fob blipper and turn the ignition on.
Worth trying a new battery and I hope that doesn't sound patronising in any way!

I used to own a Peugeot 206 1.4 HDi the same as you and it would push out some black smoke under acceleration when booted.
It always passed the emissions test on the MOT though so it was never a prob ... |

The Gti 180 only has the MAP sensor and not the MAF.
Peugeot and Citroen diesel engines, the Hdi models, usually have the MAF sensor.

I bought a MAF for my 206 1.4 HDi years ago but got an original one from peugeot so that it was the exact fit and I knew it would work properly.

You can buy an electrical circuit paint repair kit from Halfords etc which lets you bridge any gaps in the rear demister strips.

Never had a problem with the coolant cap but on the last picture of your expansion tank it looks like the coolant spilled over and down the plastic tan ... |

As it is only the left and right movement of the gear stick that is stiff I would try oiling the gear linkages with WD40 at both the gearbox and shifter sides.
