OK got a new part (the correct one)...it STILL doesnt fit!

old one re fits like a glove, new one wont click in.
Its exactly the same part! whats going on?! anyone help! ahhhhh.

Thanks for this just had to use more force to get it out!

Now just got to determine whether its the resistor or the motor itself. They book look ok though with no obvious signs. Tried a bit of WD40 ...
