I had a problem with a 306 wheel nuts and as previous posts have recommended, bang a socket on. Worked a treat.

New cat £90. I'm thinking coil pack. If all the fuel isn't being burnt (plugs look sooty) and the cat is hot then the fuel is being burnt in the cat..hence nice glowing cat!. .??

Well, I changed the cat today and it's still a bag of crap!. Running like s**t. Any other ideas? Coil pack? Is there any reason why that should make the cat get to meltin point?

I had a quick look underneath this morning, I was intending to remove the front part of the exhaust but it requires a deep socket to get the bolts off...I don't have any so it's going to have to wait ...

I would be going to trading standards because the garage has put the engine in danger of major malfunction by re-using the old cam belt. Take the car back. Tell her NOT TO SIGN ANYTHING.
