Looks good mate. Lights and strip have transformed the back end. I would get the bumper strip sprayed up in the same black as the boot strip

Like they say they just pull off. You need to take out the rear bench to get best access. I just took out the bottom bit of the seat.

I have the GLX seats. They are not much different to the GTI seats. Half leather and the rest is suede. All still light grey.

Yeah as simple as that. I did mine yesterday. All you need tool wise is a deep 13mm ratchet, axle stands and a jack. Maybe a large screw driver to help you get the rubbers off.

Try giving the starter motor a hit with a metal bar or something. Sometimes they are a bit funny after changing the box. Also not sure if the 138 GTI has a flywheel sensor? I changed the clutch on a 1 ...

Its not limescale. Its my own fault for being lazy and got polish on them :(. I will do the boiling water trick when I get home from work. Cheers for the advice people.

I used to get a beep when I went around a corner or broke heavy. Turns out I needed brake fluid.
