ive decided to go take a look at it tomorrow and see if it was just air working its way out of the system.
maybe drive it after letting it run for 5-1 ...

if stuck thermostat then the meter reading inside the car would not drop to normal and cold as the engine cooled would it?? I observed this waiting for it to cool to add sealant and water...

99.9% certain in my unprofessional opinion that its not a collapsed pipe.
limescale would be visible in the water leakage on the floor? discolouration etc? there was not any other than rust coloured ...

ok thanks.. do you know what could be causing the back pressure in to the cooling system?

the guy at the garage started the engine with the cap off the water resevoire and it was coughing and splut ...

1.9 diesel.. no turbo.. basic one! sorry.. dont know any more than that its the girlfriends and its sitting 100miles away on a patch of grass..!
