Leaving it off exposes the top of the coil pack, but its unlikely water will get in anyway.

Checked the CV boot and found it had a piece of earting copper wire holding it on, replaced with a proper cv strap and the clicking has gone! Result!
Must have been catching on rotation.

oh and by the way, they dont work, you need to hold the cover down with something else, thats why mine came off and lives in the boot.

dealer, I got some, were about 40p each, had to argue with the p***k in the dealership though and explain what they are

Its had no ill effect on me. I stillhave an annoying rattle from somewhere as I said in my other post, either clutch or aux belt or manifold or cv boot, cars rattle, end of Sad

I had exactly the same thing, still did it after fitting new screws, took the bugger off in the end.

What are Transmech clutches like?
Seen one for £66, bearing in mind Im not massively bothered about it lasting longer than 12 months.

I just cant be doing with the expense, been given a VW for next to nowt with cam belt done and 75,000 on the clock,.

The sound does go when in neutral though, and I have got a dodgy cv boot on the ...

havent tried knocking it out of gear, but will, and if the clutch has gone, the car has, not spending another penny on it, got another car to use.
anybody want some pug parts?

I posted some time ago that I had a high pitched rattle that can be heard even from inside the car, 206 GTi 137, V reg.
I cannot work out where this is coming from, but it happens only when moving, ...

I'm quitting the pug, had enough of the insurance and gobbling petrol, but do you reckon I'd get more breaking it than selling it as it is, its a good runner, no problems apart from the odd rattle.

Release bearing collapsed or collapsing
Happened to my old pug, had to have a new clutch.
Can be expensive, can be cheap, shop around.

Doesnt need to replace it, maybe look at the lambda sensor, I think when it smells it can be down to it working overtime??
