After fitting ngk sparkplugs it gave a rough idle but was advised to put Bosch in, so replaced with the Bosch yttrium FR7DC+ plugs it idled smooth after a while.
My daughter has just sold the car now ... |

Can't find much on steering racks will probably have to get a Haynes as i have a mot advisory on steering rack.
The power steering fluid is red in my resevoir and so is the spec.top up bottle i bou ... |

Update- replaced spark plugs and idling is better after initial slight splutter is this normal ?
Will the electronics/ecu learn to improve the start up.
Update--new spark plugs have sorted the pr ... |

Thanks Timon,yes i read it when it was suggested the ICV was at fault ,the throttle body is a shiny silver with one flap on mine and there isn't anything else to clean, i will put new spark plugs in t ... |

Just double cleaned/checked throttle will try new spark plugs

Throttle seems to work as cannot open flap manually when engine is running. |

There is no engine light on but will have to give it another good clean with tooth brush this time.
Have to rev the gas on cold start to get it to idle properly. |

Hi my car idles roughly on cold start, have cleaned throttle body as there is no idle control valve, what other cause could there be before i buy a new electronic throttle part (9640796280) |

Back to the spluttering idle is it due to this electronic throttle or is there another cause before i splash the cash on a electronic throttle. |

Thanks for the reply, so the electronics are buggered or can they be reset, looking expensive.

I have cleaned the throttle body as i realised its not the same as what Timons picture is and posted a link similar to what is on my 1.4, i have used the wrong name of ICV as i have never done one bef ... |

Started engine this morning still has idle splutter, give accelerator a tap and idles cold start properly will have to dismantle the throttle body as it has similar one to the GTI and doesn't appear t ... |

Have just done ICV cleaned out with carb spray idles alot smoother one of the easier jobs

Some Mintex pads come with anti-squeal shims some don't the ones i have just fitted has the shims so i didn't copper grease,so just waiting for the squealing.
