I managed to eventually do it by using 2 ball joint splitters (the plain fork variety)
I used one of them, then slid it halfway back in, then used the other and hammered it all the way in, then ham ... |

Anyone able to shed any light on how the hell to get the wishbone free from the hub assembly?!? (2002 Peugeot 206 1.4 8v)
