Does it need the extra loop? Coz I got the pipe off an identical car same engine size etc and there was no loop

I have a 1.4hdi style. 2002. It failed mot on few things but all resolved now. Apart from one. Power steering pipe split and leaking. I kinda knew because of oil patch on drive. The problem I have ...
