Get a panel filter as they are more suitable in the smaller engine cars.

If you have spare couple of grand you could get a turbo fitted and yes that would make a massive difference.

lol OMG i am such an idiot I have had the car for nearly 2 years now thinking it was an 8v. Just got the 206 handbook out and looked at pictures of the engines they have in it and mine is the 16v LOL ...

Yepp that's the one the paper cartridge. Is there any definite way to tell if the car is 16v or 8v? maybe engine model would help but I don't know where the engine model number is.
